In the 1870s the Osage Indians were driven from their home in Kansas to a, presumably, worthless land in Oklahoma. Decades later the land was found to be sitting on some of the “largest oil deposits in the United States.” The tribe became the “richest people, per capita, in the world’ and, then, one by one they began to be murdered. The FBI was finally sent to investigate the murders.
“Killers of The Flower Moon” by David Grann is based on his years of research to “expose the callousness and prejudice to American Indians that allowed the murderers to operate so long”.
