Message from the Fairhaven Health Department
Town officials recently met to address the current status of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Fairhaven has an emergency management team that is well prepared and organized. While there are confirmed cases in Massachusetts, state officials have told us that as of now, the threat to Fairhaven remains low, and the recommendation to towns like Fairhaven is to encourage prevention practices to its residents.
It’s imperative to reiterate these prevention measures and also to reiterate how important it is to practice them in helping to reduce the risk of contracting any viral infection, not just COVID-19:
1. Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
3. Cover your coughs and sneezes
4. Stay home if you are sick.
We will continue to monitor the latest updates regarding COVID-19 and will continue to take the steps necessary to keep residents safe and healthy.
Updated communications will be sent out according to guidance from our federal and state public health partners.
