The facade of the former Benny’s building on Route 6 in Fairhaven was torn down last week, beginning construction on dividing the building into three retail spaces. O’Reilly Auto Parts and Family Dollar are going into two of those spaces, the third space has yet to be revealed. The building housed Benny’s for decades, until the regional business closed all stores in 2017. Carpionato Group bought 29 of the 31 Benny’s locations, including the Fairhaven plaza. The new design calls for more parking out front. Plans were finalized with the Fairhaven Planning Board this past fall.
