On February 3, the Acushnet Fire Department started a new feature on its Facebook page to introduce each of their members to the public. This week we meet Nathan Correia.
From the Acushnet Fire & EMS Facebook Page: “THIS IS US: We started our introductions with the most senior member of the department, now we introduce one of the most junior.
“Nathan Correia joined the department as a Call Firefighter in July, 2019. As a recruit, Nathan and a few others attended the Call Firefighter Recruit Training Program (240 hours over 15 weeks, not including homework, 2 nights per week and Saturdays) held in Fall River and conducted by the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy.
“Nathan performed admirably during his training (February–June, classroom and practical). He left the academy with certification as a Massachusetts Firefighter Level I/II.
“Nathan did not let up with his training. Not only does he have a record of strong attendance at our monthly drills but he has, on his own time, participated in several courses offered by the Fire Academy. We like to tell the ‘new guys’ that in a job like this you never stop learning. Nathan has taken those words to heart. We look forward to his continued active participation.
“Acushnet, this is Nathan Correia.”
