We celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday year with a performance of his Second Symphony — for piano trio! With the G Major violin and piano sonata of 1803, dedicated to Tsar Alexander I, Beethoven honors the traditions of Mozart and Haydn while gently “rocking the boat.” His dramatic, theatrical C Minor Quartet, Op. 18, No 4, closes the program with a kaleidoscope of emotions that makes Beethoven truly immortal — and forever beloved.
This Gift of Music concert is sponsored by Patty Plum Wylde in memory of her brother Matt Plum.
