Fairhaven Recreation and Senior Center HVAC Improvements – Phase 2
The Town of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Office of the Town Administrator, will receive sealed bids for Fairhaven Recreation and Senior Center HVAC Improvements – Phase 2 Project located at 227 Huttleston Avenue, Fairhaven, MA.
Sub-bids are due at 2:00PM on Wednesday February 12, 2020 at the Office of the Town Administrator, 40 Center Street, Fairhaven MA 02719 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Late bids and Email bids will not be accepted.
General bids are due at 2:00PM on Wednesday February 26, 2020 at the Office of the Town Administrator, 40 Center Street, Fairhaven MA 02719 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Late bids and Email bids will not be accepted.

Plans and specifications will be available electronically and can be obtained from Garcia, Galuska & DeSousa Inc, 375 Faunce Corner Road, Suite D, Dartmouth, MA 02747 after 8 AM on Wednesday January 22, 2020.
A pre-bid walk through will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, January 29, 2020, at the Recreation and Senior Center, 227 Huttleston Avenue, Fairhaven, MA
DCAMM certification in the category of HVAC Prime is required for General Contractor. Filed Sub-Bid Category of Electrical DCAMM certification in the category of Electrical is required. The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, in accordance with Section 26A–27D inclusive, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L., as amended, said schedule being made a part of the Contract Documents and is included therein.
All workers employed on the project must provide proof of completion of an “OSHA-10” Construction Safety Course, as required under Chapter 30, Section 39S of the Massachusetts General Laws.
Materials, equipment and supplies to be used on this project are exempt from sales tax to the extent provided by M.G.L. Chapter 64H, Section 6(f).
All work associated with the HVAC equipment replacement shall be completed in a manner to limit the amount of required down time for the HVAC heating system.
Contract will not be awarded until after town meeting in May 2020, contractor shall honor the submitted price until funds are secured in July 2020.
Every Bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount, in the form of a certified check; or a treasurer’s check; or a cashier’s check; issued by a responsible bank or trust company, made payable to the Town of Fairhaven; or a bid bond in a form satisfactory to the Town of Fairhaven, with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. All submitted bids are the property of the Town of Fairhaven and are public record. Any bidder may withdraw their bid prior to the bid opening.
The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, wholly or in part, and to make awards in a manner deemed in the best interest of the Town.
