When one reads Ruthless River: Love and Survival by Raft on the Amazon’s Relentless Madre de Dios by Holly Fitzgerald you will be reading a harrowing saga of a raft trip down the dangerous deadly animal and fish infested river. The author and her husband on a honeymoon trip backpacking around the world were stranded in the Peruvian jungle after their plane crashed. On advice of the locals they were advised to take a raft down the river as transportation out would be months away.
