Fairhaven’s Old Time Holiday celebration spread Christmas cheer throughout the center of town on Saturday, 12/14/19. The center looked like an old time movie, with shoppers walking around with their treasures (hmm….is that a song or a movie?), as the church bells of the Unitarian church rang out Christmas carols. All combining to create quite the festive atmosphere.
It was a little rainy for most of the day, but not enough to scare away the masses. People simply grabbed some hot chocolate or cool cider to take with them as they walked.
Most vendors said they did very well at the holiday shops in Town Hall, which is where the non-profits had their tables.
The Unitaran Chuch and the First Congregational Church also had vendor tables and food, giving shoppers a variety and a chance to move around. The Millicent Library also held its annual book fair featuring local authors.
The Old Time Holiday celebration is a program of the Fairhaven Office of Tourism. For information on next year’s event or other events throughout the year, call 508-979-4085, visit www.fairhaventours.com, or email FairhavenTours@fairhaven-ma.gov.
