The Fairhaven High School Blue Devils played their hearts out on a muddy, sometimes rainy field on Thanksgiving Day, but the stronger Dartmouth High School Indians were just too much for the FHS Gridders. The Indians walked away with the win, 41–0.
In the first quarter, it looked good for Fairhaven when Peter Joseph and Owen Cebula both ran the ball for some good gains. But, then it was Dartmouth dominating as the Blue Devils did their best to stop the bigger rival and get on the board.
The two teams not meet in the regular season, but play each other on Thanksgiving Day in a tradition that goes back to 1923 (with a few gaps along the way).
Fairhaven had only two seniors on the team though, to Dartmouth’s 16 seniors. So….look out next year, Indians.
