The book chosen for October’s book discussion is “The English Teacher “ by Lily King.
Vida Avery has taught English at Fayer Academy for 15 years. She and her son, Peter, live on campus on an island off the coast of New England where they are isolated from the “outside world and from an inside secret, and when she accepts a marriage proposal from a local widower the life she has lived unravels.”
The book will be discussed at Fairhaven’s Millicent Library, 45 Center St., Fairhaven, on Thurs., 10/17, at 10 a.m., in the library’s meeting room, accessible through the Walnut Street entrance.
