Library Building Turns 100 This Year. Committee needs pictures and stories
Our Centennial Committee Needs Your Help. The Marie S. Howard School building, now the Acushnet Public Library, turns 100 this year. A key to the success of this celebration will be pictures and memories of the building throughout its history as a school, a community center, and now, a library. If you have class pictures or any memories you’d like to share, contact the committee by email at acupl@sailsinc.org or acushnetfriends@gmail.com .
More celebratory information will be available in the coming months, but for now the Committee would appreciate feedback from anyone with ties to the building. Thanks in advance!
On Saturday, October 12, Nancy Francis will be on-hand to collect any stories you may have about the building. Please stop by between 10 a.m. and 12 noon to share your memories with her!
Donations Wanted
The Friends of the Acushnet Public Library will be collecting donations for their annual sale on Sat., 10/12 from 10 a.m.–1 p.m.; Tues., Wed., Thurs., 10/15, 10/16, 10/17, from 2–5 p.m., at the library, 232 Middle Rd., Acushnet. Please bring items to the Community Room through the deck-side entrance. Do not leave the items outside or in the book drop.

The Friends support the library’s museum pass program, events for all ages and other library services. Please consider supporting them either through your donations for the sale or during their membership drive.
