Carousel Family Fun Center in Fairhaven is closing its doors for good after a “final skate” on November 11. The business has operated in Fairhaven for 27 years, and has a second location in Whitman.
Owner Charlene Conway said it was just getting to be too much for her and her husband to run two locations.
“As we get older it’s becoming more of a struggle to split ourselves in two,” said Ms. Conway in a phone interview.
She said it was a business decision and it was simply time. The property has been on the market for more than a year.
“We made a lot of people happy over the years, put a lot of smiles on people’s faces,” said Ms. Conway.
She would not divulge the identity of the new owners because the papers have not been signed yet. She said she had to make a decision, with a definite closing date, though, because people book events months ahead.
“It took me a long time to get to this point,” said Ms. Conway. “Because I love, love, love what I do for the children.”
