The Acushnet Selectboard recognized the accomplishments of Library Director Dina Brasseur at its meeting on 8/13/19. Ms. Brasseur was named Acushnet Woman of the Year by the Standard-Times. The board had the article reprinted and framed and presented it to
her at the meeting.
Selectboard chairperson Roger Cabral said the recognition was for, “all the things you do and the value you bring to Acushnet.”
Ms. Brasseur thanked the Friends of the Library and the Trustees, saying she knows they worked very hard to get the new library.
“I don’t do it alone, of course,” said Ms. Brasseur, and thank her “awesome staff.”
“It’s such a team effort,” she said.
She also told the board that the library had a lot of young readers. The library surpassed the 10,000 mark for items borrowed for the very first time.
Library users took out 10,616 items, “from our tiny little library,” she said.
