\Another successful National Night Out
The National Night Out Committee would like to thank the community for another successful event. This past Tuesday, August 6, 2019, we enjoyed a K9 demonstration, free refreshments, a display of safety apparatus, a dunk tank, music, and so much more, as a part of the nationwide “National Night Out” effort to bring the community together with members of local law enforcement for a night of fun. The committee puts this event together every year, because we passionately believe that safe communities come from law enforcement and public partnerships.
The National Night Out committee operates on a zero dollar budget. That’s right5— it is 100% free to the public, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals. The Committee would like to thank the following groups and people for making our event shine this year (despite mosquitoes and rain): Boy Scout Troop 52, Lions Club, Ken Souza of KJ Tunes, Bristol County Sheriff’s office, Mattapoisett Police Department, Jerry Pinto, Allen Days and the Fairhaven Road Race, Profishant, School Department and its custodial staff, Board of Public Works, Fire Department and Local 1055, Board of Health, Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Harbormaster’s office, Brooke and Braley Boucher, 110 Grill, Ice House, Minerva’s, Yia Yias, Riccardi’s, Walmart, Cleary’s Pub, Tropical Smoothie, Dee’s Hot Dogs, the Fairhaven Office of Tourism, Fairhaven Historical Society, DeTerra’s Bounce, Gifts to Give, DEA 360 Southcoast, Cox’s Chocolates, Fairhaven Recreation Center, Animal Control, DCF (Foster Parenting), the Fairhaven Community Television Department, Crystal Ice, Environmental Police, New York Life, Fairhaven EMA, Call Firefighters Association, Town Administrator and the Board of Selectmen.
