South Coast Neighbors United, (SCNU) invites you to participate in a free, family event to raise awareness of the Access Northeast Project, and the risks and dangers that Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects present to the community. Come march in solidarity with concerned members of the community for three miles on Saturday, July 9, 2016.
The march will begin at the Pulaski Elementary School in New Bedford located at 1097 Braley Road at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at the Ford Middle School in Acushnet located at 708 Middle Road by 11:45 a.m.
Participants will march past the site for the proposed LNG tank expansion and storage facility on Peckham Road in Acushnet. The March will be followed by a fun picnic lunch with activities and music by Pipeline Piper, Penn Johnson.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own signs and a bagged lunch for the picnic. Transportation to bring participants back to the starting point at the Pulaski Elementary School will be provided.
SCNU is a group of concerned residents from the South Coast who have come together to stop the proposed LNG tank and pipeline expansion project in the residential communities of Acushnet and East Freetown.
