RMV at AAA is discrimination
While the state is auditing the Mass. Registry of Motory Vehicles (RMV), it ought to look into the “sweetheart deal” the RMV made with the AAA, whereby the AAA can perform most Registry business but FOR MEMBERS ONLY! The AAA recruits, no doubt, more members, while it takes pressue off Registry offices.
This REEKS of discrimination againts low-income people who can ill-afford the $54.00 basic AAA membership fee yearly.
The MassDOT (Mass. Department of Transportation), under which the RMV falls, is also complicit in this deal. These state agencies seem to forget who’s paying their wages, which is all the taxpayers of Mass.
Because of this discrimination, many low-income people have to travel longer distances to RMV offices which they can ill afford.
Could the state be trying to teach us never to be low-income people?
