Officer DeAmaral is at it again!!!
While patrolling Lake Street in Acushnet on a picture perfect Sunday afternoon, Officer DeAmaral decided to get out of the ole’ cruiser and do some foot patrol, during which, Officer DeAmaral came across 11 year-old Lucas G. and his mom, Kristin.
Lucas was teaching his mom a few things about fishing, most importantly the art of “Catch & Release.”

Lucas had only caught one fish so far but with his great attitude and some patience there was no doubt he would catch a ton more!
Lucas also volunteered to safely help any turtles he saw cross the road so they don’t get hit by passing cars.
Because of his amazing positive attitude and his care and compassion for sustainable fishing on Lake Street, Lucas was issued a Positive Citation!!!
Great job to Lucas and his mother Kristin!!!
