The Friends of the Millicent Library invite you to tell about your families’ immigration to our country by filling out a card at the Walnut Street entrance of the Millicent Library, or at the main desk. We are preparing the community for our annual meeting on May 20th, with a speaker from UMass Dartmouth, discussing immigration policies as they presently affect our community. If you have a story to tell about you or your family, there are colorful cards available. After filling out any history that you would like to share, either pin the card to the Friends of the Millicent Library’s bulletin board located in the downstairs entrance, or leave at the desk for one of the Friends to properly display it.
You are also welcome to write about your family on an 8×11 piece of paper, bring it to the library, so that it can also be displayed, read, and saved by the Friends. We would like to have a community archival history of Fairhaven’s residents’ immigration history for our future citizens.
