On May 16th, at 10:00 a.m., the Thursday Morning Book Discussion group, will meet at the Millicent Library’s Conference room to hear Beth Luey discuss her book, “House Stories: The Meanings of Home in a New England Town.” This book is about twelve houses in Fairhaven and the people who lived in them, and will be available for sale, after the lecture, along with Ms. Luey’s other publication, “At Home: Historic Houses of Eastern Massachusetts.”
Beth, who is president of the Friends of the Millicent Library, co-president of the Colonial Club, and secretary of the Fairhaven Mothers’ Club, moved to Fairhaven in 2006 from her teaching position in Arizona. She is currently working on a book about writers’ houses in New England.
The discussion is free, open to the public, with accessibility to the meeting room through the Walnut Street entrance. To borrow the book, contact either the Millicent Library or SAILS, the inter-library web site. For questions or directions please contact Norma Markey at 508-993-3745.
