60 scholarships available

January 31, 2019 by Staff Writer

Press Release

The 2019 application process for 60 scholarships awarded by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts is open and available online at www.cfsema.org.

This year, the Community Foundation anticipates the award of $400,000 in financial aid, and area students can apply online for these scholarships by clicking the “Scholarships” page on the Community Foundation website.

Scholarships for students from throughout SE Mass. are available for accepted high school seniors, as well as adults pursuing advanced degrees to enhance their professional careers.

The deadline for all applicants to complete submission requirements is March 1.

“The Community Foundation is pleased to offer a wide range of scholarships reflecting the broad diversity of the students in Southeastern Massachusetts pursuing a higher education,” said President John Vasconcellos. “With rising tuition costs, it is more and more difficult for students and their families to pay for a college education. We hope that many students throughout our region will check out our website and apply for these scholarships.”

Improving educational attainment in the region has been a top priority of Community Foundation grant-making. The Foundation’s grant making has supported expanding early literacy programs, advocacy programs to increase educational attainment, support of STEM programs and adult education, as well as scholarships for students to pursue higher education.

Our Community. Your Foundation. Since 1995, area residents have been turning to the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts to make their philanthropic giving as effective as possible. The Community Foundation is a public charity serving thousands of people who share a common concern — improving the quality of life in Southeastern Massachusetts. To date, the Community Foundation has distributed well over $25 million from nearly 200 funds to humanitarian, educational and cultural organizations in the region. More information about the Foundation can be found at www.cfsema.org.
