Community Connections, Inc. is hosting the annual Walk-a-thon and Family Fun Day on Sept. 16 in Fairhaven. The event, now in its 11th year, attracted more than 500 people last year to participate in the day of games, prizes, face painting, a dunk tank, food and more.
The event brings awareness and funding to help individuals who participate in the programs across Southern Mass. and Cape Cod.
All funds raised from the event are directed to programs to help provide specialized equipment, unique therapies and additional activities such as art supplies, community-based outings, music therapy sessions and horseback riding lessons.
The walk-a-thon and family fun day will be held on Sun., 9/16, at the Fairhaven Recreation Center, 227 Huttleston Ave. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. and the walk kickoff is at 10:30 a.m.

Community Connections offers day habilitation, life skills and transportation. Community Connections also provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to find employment within the community.
