Just a small thank you to the Fairhaven Neighborhood News and the Coutinho family for the heart wrenching story of Nick Coutinho and his struggle with bipolar disease. The story brought tears to my eyes and did exactly what the family wanted — it gave Nick a face and a personality; he became more than just a statistic.
This was a wonderful and brave way for the family to bring awareness of this disease to people who may not understand; to let us see into the life and struggle that families face when a loved one suffers from mental illness.
