The US Coast Guard Auxiliary, 80 Middle St., Fairhaven, is offering two boating courses.
Boating Skills and Seamanship, and will begin on Mon., 9/10 and run for 14 weeks, ending on 12/17. Class meetings on Mondays, from 7–9 p.m. Cost is $45. Contact Mary Beth Soares, mbsoares11@verizon.net, 508-493-5531.
The course will cover introduction to navigation, powering your boat, lines and knots, weather and boating, radio, and more.
Sailing Skills and Seamanship, will also start on 9/10 and run on same schedule, with the same costs. It will cover the same topics, but with a focus on sailing.
