A taste of Japanese culture. You could have a Japanese reference person in your home for two days in September. This would be a significant part of the Grassroots Summit which will take place in Seattle, Washington, in September. Based on the Whitfield-Manjiro relationship the summit alternates each year between Japan and the USA.
After a homestay of 7-10 days in Seattle the Japanese visitors can take advantage of the “add-on” tour to many other USA destinations for a short two-day visit. Fairhaven-New Bedford is offered as an alternate visit and this year we are expecting 11 Japanese English-speaking senior citizens to visit here from September 25th to the 27th.
Anyone wishing to offer a two-day New England experience to any of these travelers should get in touch with Gerry Rooney at 508-858-5303 or email Gerry@WMFriendshipHouse.org
