The rain may have turned “Picnic on the Lawn” into “Picnic in the Hall,” but it did not dampen the spirits of those who fancy getting dressed up in white and sharing a meal together.
The fifth annual get-together, which benefits the Fairhaven Historical Society, moved indoors to the Unitarian Memorial Church hall on Saturday, 8/4, because of the rain.

Tim Evans, president of the Fairhaven Historical Society, told the attendees that the FHS was planning new projects, and encouraging new members to join.
Inspired by “Diner en Blanc,” which startedin Paris more than 25 years ago, the event requires everyone who attends to dress in white, with tables draped in white, to create a photogenic effect. No paper or plastics utensils are allowed. It is a fun event for friends to gather and share a meal.
