We have a fun summer in store! The program is brought to you by the Massachusetts Library System, The Boston Bruins, and the Millicent Library. Thank you also to the Friends of the Library for all of their support year ’round, as well as the Fairhaven Cultural Council and a bequest from James P. Honohan, a longtime trustee of the Millicent Library. A big shout out to all of our Teen volunteers (please sign up if you haven’t yet and are entering grade 6 and up!)
Libraries Rock
The 2018 Summer Reading Program theme is Libraries Rock, at the Millicent Library, 45 Center Street, Fairhaven; contact Ms. Jane Murphy, Youth Services Librarian, jmurphy@sailsinc. org. The library is accessible.
Wednesday, 6/20, 9-5 downstairs. We’ll begin sign-ups for the summer program. Drop in anytime to register, get your reading log, have your face painted, and more. If you cannot make it that day, you may drop in to the Children’s Room anytime through July to sign up.
Thursday, 6/21, 10 a.m. in the Town Hall auditorium (upstairs) Magician Debbie O’Carroll returns for her Libraries Rock kickoff show, funded by the Fairhaven Cultural Council, a part of the Mass. Cultural Council. Sign ups continue in the library downstairs until 5 p.m.
Tuesday, 6/26, 10 a.m. Summer Storytime for all ages from babies up.
Tuesday, 6/26, 2:30-4:30. Teen Tuesday. Entering Grade 6 and up. Join us for some social time, Wii, games, some art & craft and book discussions.

Friday, 7/6 at 10 a.m. Kay Hanley Alden’s Fourth of July week Marching and Movement. All ages. Downstairs.
Friday, 7/6, 2:30–4:30, LEGO Club. Bring your own Legos, games, Pokemon, etc. for playtime with friends.
Tuesday, 7/10, 10 a.m. Storytime, Teen Tuesday at 2:30 (with a special art program with Ms. Nancy, “Written in Stone”)
Wednesday, 7/11, 10-11 a.m. Fire Department Fun! The Fairhaven Fire Department returns for their annual program. Wear your bathing suits! On the Walnut Street side of the library (Unitarian Church Lawn) .
Wednesday, 7/11, 2:30-4:30 Art with Ms. Nancy: “Reading from Life” Fossils, molds, casts. Ages 4 and up. Downstairs.
Thursday, 7/12, 10:30 a.m. The OOCH Experience. Brett Ouchkunis returns with his music, dance and yo-yos. Downstairs. Ages 4+. Funded by a bequest from James P. Honohan.
Friday, 7/13 10 a.m. LEGO Club. Bring your own!
Friday, 7/13, 2:30-4:30 p.m. Art with Sara. Learn about environmental artist Andrew Goldsworthy, including “Noticing Walk”

Wednesday, 8/1, 34th annual Teddy Bear Parade! 10 a.m to noon on the Unitarian Church Lawn, Walnut Street side of the Library. We’ll march down to Our Lady’s Haven and back.
