Town Meeting Forum
Acushnet Town Moderator Nicholas Gomes and other town officials will hold a town meeting forum on Monday, 4/30, at 7 p.m., in the Town Hall meeting room.
The town moderator will review all TM articles so voters will know what to expect at town meeting on May 14.
The forum will run on government access cable TV channel 18.
Voters are encouraged to attend the forum or watch the video so they will be prepared for the votes at the annual Town Meeting scheduled for Monday, 5/14, at 7 p.m. at Ford Middle School.
Town meeting will vote on ore than $29 million in spending, and more than 40 articles.
Little League Opener
The Fairhaven Acushnet Youth Baseball League will hold its season opener with parade this Saturday, 4/28, at 11 a.m. Players should be at St. Francis Xavier School on Main St. in Acushnet at 10:30 am to assemble with their teams. The parade kicks off at 11, and heads over to Knox Field.
At Knox field, there will be a short ceremony, followed by Tee-Ball and Instructional children being led off the field), then our Minor and Major and Gateway players will be released to their loved ones as well.
There will be FAYB apparel on display, and some great specials at our concession stand. Some of our Gateway and Major and Minor teams will be playing in games beginning at 12:30 pm, with the last ones starting at 5:45 pm, so it is sure to be a great day of baseball with family and friends.
