Acushnet’s elections are as ho-hum as it gets this year, with not a single contested race on the ballot, and one seat with no candidate at all.
Commissioner of Trust Funds has one three-year term up for grabs, with no one running for that seat.
All other races are uncontested: incumbent Kevin Gaspar for Selectboard; incumbent Matthew Lopes for Board of Assessors; incumbent David Davignon for Board of Health; Craig Sumner for a full three-year term on the School Committee; Jennifer Downing, the current School Committee appointee, to finish the remainder of an unexpired term ending 4/1/19; incumbent Bryan Deschamps for Planning Commissioner; incumbent Paul Fortin for Cemetery Board; Incumbent Diane Ferreira for Library Trustee and Jennifer Alves, for Library Trustee (two seats up for election); incumbent Chad Leclair for Park Commissioner; also for Park Commissioner, Michael Matton to fill an expiring term on ending 4/6/20; and for moderator, Nicholas A. Gomes, to fill the remainder of an expiring term ending 4/6/20, a seat he holds now as an appointee.
The election will be held on Monday, 4/2/18. Last day to register to vote is Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 8:00 PM
