The Fairhaven High School cheerleaders took first place in the Division 4 State Championship for Fall Cheerleading at the Mass. School Administrators’ Association competition on Sunday, 11/19. According to coaches Meagan Rudenauer and Heather Costa, this is the first year the squad competed in Division 4. For the last two years they have won in the Coed Small division, but D4 has tougher competition.
“We were going into it thinking we could get fifth or first and it really could go either way,” said the coaches in an email. “They had a fall and a couple of issues with the routine, but they out-performed everyone and won, with Rockland taking 2nd and Abington 3rd. This is our 4th State Championship in a row. We look forward to starting our winter season on December 4th and doing it all again!”
