LAST ISSUE!!!! (Don’t panic, just for two weeks.)
Don’t be worried when you don’t see a new edition of the Neighb News for a bit. This is our last issue until 7/20. We are officially on summer break in just a few minutes….
We’ll be back on 7/20 (unless I hit the lottery, then it’s syonara, baby!).
Let’s not, however, expect our last issue before vacation to be drama-free.
Board of Public Works chairperson Mike Ristuccia (see page 4), “recused” himself from a discussion, then proceeded to sit in front of his own board on the matter.
I saw Mike just a few hours ago, right before deadline. I told him about my concerns, and he and I had a bit of a “discussion” at the store.
He has no idea why it was a bad idea to advocate for a vendor in front of his own board. He said, but he was th vendor, so who else would do it, and that he was not making money from it, the kids would be.
I tried to explain that there are not unlimited vendors allowed on the town beach, so by definition it is a special consideration….by a board….to the board’s chairperson.
He disagrees.
Isn’t there a course or something these guys should have to take?
Anyway, there wasn’t enough time for him to respond in writing for this week, but he assured me that he will respond.
I look forward to his letter.
Meanwhile, check out all the cool stuff we have in this week’s issue. July festivities are planned all over the place. See pages 3, 5, 8, 9 for that.
And, while you’re reading, be sure to notice who our advertisers are and tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News. Without them, we could not keep publishing. But, really, folks, there are not enough of them. We also need reader support to keep us going. Kind of like public radio, except we’re broke and they’re not. So, please support your local news.
Until the 20th, see ya
