Apple Peach festival persists, in spite of rain

September 16, 2026 by Staff Writer

Well, one out of two ain’t bad. Saturday was great weather for the 45th Apple Peach Festival in Acushnet, but Sunday’s torrential rain put a damper on things. The parade was canceled, but the festival continued, but a handful of vendors and the performers showing up.

The new Miss Apple Peach, Averi Pereira, and Jr. Miss Apple Peach, Sofia Faria, made their appearance on stage if a Facebook photo can be trusted, but did not get the traditional ride in the convertible down Main Street.

Facebook has a fair number of pictures of people sloshing in the puddles and …. dare we say it.. dancing in the rain.

The VFW was the official pie vendor and almost sold out on day one. People found their way to the VFW Post on Sunday to buy what was left.

Visit https://applepeachfestival.com/ or find them on Facebook.
