Acushnet PD Stuffie Academy graduates 10

September 2, 2026 by Staff Writer

Offiical Report from the Acushnet Police Department

The Overnight Adventures of the Stuffie Police Academy

CASE FILE #63502

SUBJECTS: 10 highly trained stuffed animals

LOCATION: Acushnet Police Department

DATE: One very busy overnight shift

At approximately 5:30PM, a group of stuffed animals, accompanied by Girl Scouts from Troop 63502,  reported for duty at the Acushnet Police Department to begin their training at the Stuffie Police Academy.

After the girls got a tour of the police station, police vehicles, dispatch, and talked about what officers do, the recruits were immediately assigned their first task.

DISPATCH TRAINING

The stuffies wasted NO time getting to work. Several recruits reported directly to dispatch, where they learned how to answer phones, operate computers, and monitor important police business.

Unfortunately, at least one recruit became very interested in pressing buttons. That recruit has been placed under observation.

CLASSROOM TRAINING

Next, the recruits attended their first official academy class. They learned about police work, teamwork, community safety, and the very important skill of sitting quietly in a chair and looking extremely serious. Reports indicate that the class was going well. However, one recruit appeared to be sleeping.

PATROL TRAINING

Once classroom training was complete, the stuffies headed outside to begin patrol training. One recruit was brave enough to climb aboard the Acushnet Police motorcycle. The recruit was reminded that stuffies must not operate police motorcycles without an adult officer present.

The recruit claimed they were “just posing.”  The investigation is ongoing.

VEHICLE OPERATIONS

The recruits then reported to a patrol vehicle to learn about police equipment. They examined the computer, radio, lights, controls, and other important equipment.

One recruit apparently decided that the patrol car was the perfect place for a snack. Officers quickly reminded everyone: NO EATING IN THE CRUISER.

THE INTERVIEW

Things became very serious when several recruits were called into an official interview room.

The stuffies were asked where they had been. They refused to answer. They were asked if they had anything to do with the missing Girl Scout cookies. They continued to refuse to answer.

At this point, the officers had only one conclusion: these stuffies were VERY good at keeping secrets.

FINAL ACADEMY REPORT

After reviewing the evidence, the Acushnet Police Department has determined that the recruits successfully completed their overnight training. They demonstrated courage, teamwork, and observation skills.

ALL RECRUITS ARE HEREBY DECLARED OFFICIAL GRADUATES OF THE STUFFIE POLICE ACADEMY

P.S. No stuffies were arrested during the making of this report

A Note from the Girl Scout Leader

A HUGE thank you to the Acushnet Police Department for participating in a “Stuffie Sleepover Police Academy” for our Girl Scout troop.

Not only did they give us a tour and show us all the inner workings of the station, they took the BEST pictures of the girls’ stuffies working hard during their training.

This was such a fun and memorable way of showing these ladies what the police do for our community.

We love our town so much.
