Concerts in Center soon to wrap up for the season

Fairhaven’s Concerts in the Center, aka Concerts Under the Stars, continue for just two more weeks, with 8/6 the last scheduled day. Last week, 7/23, Butch McCarthy with Angel and the Gents entertained a crowd of hundreds in front of Town Hall, while a few people danced in the street, and some young’uns chalked up the pavement.
Dave and Deb Longworth have been dancing for five years, and they tore up the pavement (okay, not really) from one end of the block to the other. They have been going to the concerts in the center for two years.
Young Langdon Smith, who was in town visiting his grandparents, gave the Longworths a run for their money, though, showing off his moves.
His grandmother, Dede Smith, said Langdon discovered the concerts when visiting last year, and was excited to be here again while they were going on.
“It’s his favorite thing,” said Ms. Smith.
Young Langdon told the Neighb News he taught himself to dance.
The concerts are sponsored by the Fairhaven Improvement Association and are held on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in front of Town Hall, 40 Center Street, Fairhaven. See page 5.
