The North Fairhaven Improvement Association held its annual Music Night, featuring Eddie and the Exciters playing all the oldies on Sunday, 7/19/26, in Benoit Square. Adams Street was blocked off from traffic to showcase some classic vehicles and let people literally dance in the street.
The NFIA volunteers cooked up some hot dogs and hamburgers, while a couple of hundred people enjoyed the music in the square.
Bob Santos of New Bedford, and Donna Bennett, a summer Fairhaven resident, took the street to show off some dance moves.
“It’s a lot of fun,” they each said in turn.
Meanwhile, Kristine Audette, showed her sweet 1968 Camaro that she has owned since she was 16.
“I loved it. I built it,” she said, adding that a lot of people helped her along the way. ‘It’s ben a fun project.”
Jesse took the opportunity to teach his two young daughters, Carsie and Laurience, some cool dance moves in the street.
Carsie said they were having a “great time.”
“Lots of dancing,” said dad.
The NFIA is a volunteer organization that organizes free events throughout the year. They are always looking for more volunteers. They meet the third Thursday of the month at 267 Adams Street, Fairhaven. Email northfairhavenimprovement267@gmail.com or find them on Facebook.
