Jean Ann Warters passed unexpectedly June 4, 2026, in Naples, FL following a year of health challenges. Born Jean Ann Silvestrone to Gismonde and Catherine (D’Amore) Silvestrone May 3, 1953 in Watertown, MA she lived most of her life in Fairhaven, MA.
She was a 1971 graduate of the former Southeastern Massachusetts University with a BS degree in Marine Biology and later received her MS in Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health. She went on to a 38-year career with Massachusetts’ Department of Environmental Protection as an Environmental Engineer. She served a number of years on the Fairhaven, MA Town Meeting and has been a member of the Acushnet River Safe Boating Club and US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 65 for 28 years. In Florida, she is a member of both the Naples and Bonita Springs Historical Societies.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Carl Silvestrone of Bedford and sister Donna Gandolfi of Marion, Jean is survived by her spouse of 47 years, Marsby Warters of Fairhaven and Naples, her sisters Paula Hull in Longmont, CO and Molly Schaeffer and her spouse Steven, of Fairhaven, brother Daniel Silvestrone and his spouse, Marion, of Bedford, MA, her brother-in-law Joel Gandolfi of Marion, MA and sister-in-law Cathy Silvestrone Savioli of Billerica, MA. She was blessed with ten nieces and nephews and twelve grandnieces and grandnephews.
Services will be at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Main St., Fairhaven with burial at Riverside Cemetery on June 22, 2026. Visitation at 9 a.m., services at 10:30 and interment at 11:00. A celebration of her life will follow at the Acushnet River Safe Boating Club on 80 Middle St., Fairhaven, at 12:00.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or a personal charitable organization.
