Livesey Park in North Fairhaven was hopping busy on Saturday, 5/23/26, with the opening day of the Open Air Market drawing hundreds of people to the park, along with the regular crowd enjoying all the park has to offer.
“It’s a really good turnout,” said organizer, Myles Romano, adding they had more vendors than expected, with a quite a few signing up the day before.
In addition to many of the same vendors as last year, the event has added a few new ones.
The market features handmade crafts, antiques, local produce, local honey, locally produced food products, art, etc.
Brewie, the mascot enticing people to go to Book ’n Brew, said it was only their second year. They offer deals on used books, and fresh brewed coffee. The line at the books did not stop all day. According to their Facebook post they sold 202 books.
Joe Rebelo, and Donna and Dan Pacheco, were relaxing on a bench after doing some shopping.
Mr. Rebelo said he liked the craft vendors best and bought some horseshoe art from a friend who had a booth.
“It runs the gamut,” he said about the marketplace’s choices.
“I love these kinds of fairs,” said Ms. Pacheco. “It’s amazing what people can make out of what we consider junk.”
Not that she bought any of that, instead, she opted for some sweets.
Sisters, Crystal and Rebecca, were pretty busy making custom photo magnets at Sister’s Magnetic Bond. Customers could upload a photo from their phones, and in just a couple of minutes that photo was on a key chain, refrigerator magnet, and other fun stuff.
Jen Paulino was out and about finding a Father’s Day gift for her husband (shhh…it’s a surprise).
“This is great,” said Ms. Paulino. “It’s the best deals in town.”
The marketplace runs every Saturday through September under the trees at Livesey Park in Fairhaven, corner of Glenhaven and Parker, except for 6/27 & 7/4. The hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To reach market manager Email North FairhavenMarket@gmail.com or find them on Facebook.
