Trapilo Has Finger on Pulse of Fairhaven

I know everyone is well aware of Rick Trapilo’s vast business experience, his MBA and his familiarity with balance sheets. I want to tell you about Rick Trapilo the man.

Every now and then you meet someone that immediately strikes you as unique. That happened to me a few years ago when I first met Rick Trapilo.

When we were introduced, Rick immediately extended his hand, looked me in the eye, smiled broadly and said, “Hi, I’m Rick Trapilo it’s very nice to meet you!”

I knew then I had met someone with integrity, moral character and genuine politeness. Many people say their life is prioritized through faith, family and community. Rick never says that, he simply lives it.

I have watched him passionately advocate for the elimination of our neighbor’s dumping of untreated wastewater into our shared harbor and ultimately into Buzzards Bay. He understands that we need to protect our greatest natural resource not only for us, but for our children and their children. He knows the importance of protecting the waters of Buzzards Bay for swimming, boating, fishing and shellfishing.

I have been fortunate enough to serve on the Atlas Tack Working Group under Rick’s chairmanship. He has a democratic style of management which encourages team engagement and fosters creativity, he leads with certainty, clarity of purpose and delegates thoughtfully always with success in mind. He is focused on finally completing the process started by others years ago to eliminate the stigma of having a Superfund Site in Fairhaven which casts a dark shadow over our beautiful town. With public input, he wants to ultimately bring the site back to life in a way that complements the neighborhood and its character.

Rick believes in smart controlled growth and strong economic development guided by trained professionals. He has said before, he will make hiring these positions a priority, positions that are needed to strengthen a community’s chance of long term financial success.

Rick Trapilo has his finger on the pulse of Fairhaven and he is offering his most valuable asset, his time. He is willing and more than able to lend his business experience and his life experience to help the town he and Margaret have made their home.

A vote for Rick Trapilo is a vote for our future and our town.
