A total of 6.36% of registered voters turned out in Acushnet on Tuesday, 4/28/26, to vote in an election that had no contested races. Five races on the ballot were empty, with no one at all running for those seats. Of 8,883 registered voters, 565 cast their ballots for all town-wide offices. Due to the lack of contested races and the seats that had no candidates, polling hours were cut back to 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ryan Rezendes will take the Select Board seat held by David Wojnar, who did not run for re-election; Paul Soucy was elected to Housing Authority.
All other races were filled by incumbents and. Re-elected to their seats were: Pam Labonte, Town Clerk; John Brown, Assessor; Robert Medeiros, Board of Health; Ronald Houde, Jr., and Mellissa Ann Cordeira, School Committee; Peter Gampa, Planning Commissioner; Joanne Cioper, Cemetery Board; Joan Howland, Library Trustee; Town Moderator, Tree Warden, Park Commissioner, Commissioner of Trusts, Library Trustee, all had a seat with no candidate.
