NOTICE OF A PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Acushnet – Reconstruction of South Main Street, from Main Street to Alden Road

A Public Informational Meeting will be held by Mass DOT to discuss the proposed project in Acushnet, MA.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 6:30PM
PURPOSE: The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed project. All views and comments made at the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
PROPOSAL: The proposed project consists of the reconstruction of South Main Street from the Acushnet-Fairhaven Town Line to Main Street (a total distance of approximately 1.22 miles). The project will include milling and hot mix asphalt overlay of the existing roadway pavement, construction of new concrete sidewalks, and a new shared use path adjacent to the west side of South Main Street. In addition, the project consists of stormwater drainage improvements, extension of an existing culvert, pedestrian curb ramps, new crosswalks, and on-street parking in the vicinity of Garfield Avenue.
