South Coast Neighbors United is excited to invite you to a free film series this February, presented in partnership with the Office of Sustainability at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the Sierra Club Massachusetts Chapter.
This powerful three-part series shines a light on the real-world consequences of corporate pollution, environmental contamination, and decades-long cover-ups — stories that affect communities across the country and right here at home.
All movies are 6–8:30 p.m. in the Charlton College of Business, 285 Old Westport Rd, North Dartmouth, MA 02747 (parking lots 13, 14 in white lined spaces). The film will be screening in Room 149 at 6PM each night. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
Feb. 12 – The first film in the series is “Dark Waters,” starring Mark Ruffalo, Anne Hathaway, and Tim Robbins. This movie tells the gripping true story of a corporate defense attorney (Rob Bilott) who risks everything to expose DuPont’s role in widespread chemical contamination.
Feb. 19 – The second film, “The Devil We Know,” is an award-winning documentary which dives deeper into the devastating impacts of PFAS contamination (by DuPont) and the communities that fought back after learning the truth.
Feb 26 – The final film, “How To Poison A Planet,” featuring Mark Ruffalo and Rob Bilott, is an investigative documentary that uncovers how toxic “forever chemicals” came to be so widely used (by DuPont and 3M) —and why accountability has been so elusive.
