Ugh…ICE in Fairhaven (page 11). How f’g gross to see those masked thugs roaming our town to take  away hard working people. Our own Ann Richard, though, didn’t let them get away without an earful. Say what you will about her, but the woman has guts. Which is more than I can say for the masked men (and I use the term loosely), who won’t show their faces, give their names, or even say which agency they are from as they haul away painters. Painters for heaven’s sake. Go after criminals like you said you would.

This county is IN an authoritarian state. I do not understand how there are still people who do not see that, or who just don’t care. The one thing that set us apart has gone down the shithole. And some of you are all like… ohhh….my 401K is high. All is right with the world.

No, it isn’t.

I watched an episode of “The FBI Files” this week, all about a months long investigation involving hundreds of agents to take down a home invasion ring in. All I could think of was how the Big Buffoon is pulling people off of investigations like that to pluck dish washers out of restaurants because their papers aren’t quite right.

God help us all.

Fairhaven lost a good one last week. Allen Days, of Fairhaven Father’s Day Road Race fame, passed away (see obituary on page 14). Allen truly left his mark on Fairhaven, and he left a lasting legacy, too. The road race still contributes to all sorts of nonprofits. And although he stepped back a bit a couple of years ago, it’s still going strong. Rest in peace, Allen.

Planning Board had a truly bizarre meeting this week (see page 3). There’s more to that story to be sure. We’ll stay on it for you.

We have a Select Board story for you, too. See page 4 for that. It is probably the last one for our Interim TA, George Samia. He did a fantastic job while he was here. He was lots of fun to listen to, as well. He always had a good story to add to the mix and illustrate his point. I’m sorry I had to cut the SB story short when I found out about the bizarre PB meeting, and decided I needed to get that in for this week.

No wonder I never get any sleep.

Anyway, I digress. See you around the state, George. You helped us through a tough time, and left things in relatively decent shape for the new guy. Keith Hickey should be starting soon, so…let the budget games begin.

There’s lots of other stuff in here, of course, including an assessment of Route 6 (page 13), and our cover story (page 12) that looks like it was super fun. And, of course, lots of happenings on pages 5, 6, 7.

While you’re paging through, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.

Until next week, then, see ya,

Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
