WHO you gonna call?

This special know-your-town issue is something I used to do about once a year. I stopped a long time ago, but thought now was a good time to run another one.

It’s good to see who is on the boards of the two towns. Both Acushnet and Fairhaven are small enough that there’s a good chance you know someone who is on a board. And, you can see that there are vacancies, too.

Just knowing what boards there are is helpful.

The Acushnet info, however, is not 100% up to date. The website information was not current. I got some boards updated by town staff, but they didn’t get to all of them. It is still useful info, though. You can see which boards there are; and, chances are, the same people are on them, it’s just the term dates that need updating

See pages 12 and 13 for the boards; and page 18 for a list of departments and phone numbers.

We also have a story about the closing of Euro’s in the center of town (see page 11). It’s been there for about 25 years. They’ve been a great advertiser since year one. I remember how hard it was, though, to get that ad at first because Gail was such a “moving target,” as her sister said at the time. She still is. We finally talked on deadline day, with just a couple of hours to spare.

That whimsical shop will be missed by many.

Thank you, Gail, for keeping it open as long as you did, considering…well, read the story.

Oh…and one more thing before I sign off. The secret is out! Oscar winner Brian Helgeland will be in Fairhaven later this month. See page 3 for details.

There’s other stuff in here, of course. Lots of happenings going on. While you’re paging through, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.

Until next week, then, see ya,

Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
