You have to wonder how some of this foolishness gets started, huh?
No one stole money from the animals, okay? (See page 4).
The feds, as ordered by the Big Buffoon, are stealing money from poor people and old people and unemployable people and school departments and medicare and giving it all to rich people, but…whatever.
In Fairhaven, however, the animal shelter account is fine. It’s safe. No one took it. The animals are being taken care of.
And, honestly, how do these rumors get started?
Moving on…
See page 4 for the Select Board. They also got a good update from the Atlas Tack Working Group, but I just didn’t have room for it all this week. We’ll run that next week and, hopefully, with some pictures, too.
Our cover story is a fun one, Acushnet fire and police faced off in a softball game. The firefighters lost, but I think they had a great excuse: they fought a structure fire earlier in the day (see page 3).
Our photographer, Sam Simoes got some great action shots, but….really, folks, who can resist little Colton, huh? He just HAD to go on the cover.
And, there’s a new group in town sprucing up public spaces. See page 18 to learn about the Green Lanterns and how you can help. I mean, how cool is that? Instead of waiting for someone else to do it, they just decided to get it going themselves. And you can help!
This weekend is full of fun events (see pages 5, 11, 14), including the annual Teddy Bear Parade and a Touch-A-Truck event in Fairhaven. See page 5 for those.
And, remember Nana Purrington from last year? She’s baaackkk….She turned 103, God bless her. And her family and friends gathered to give her an appropriate celebration. See page 13 for that. Happy birthday, Nana!
There’s other stuff in here, of course.
