Join the Fairhaven Village Militia for the last “Evenings at the Fort” of the 2025 season on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven, Massachusetts.
Step back in time and chat with men and women in period clothing to learn about the fort’s history and daily life in the 1770s. You can also tour the Fort Phoenix bunker and watch musket firing demonstrations every 15 minutes, starting at the top of the hour.
A special seacoast cannon firing will take place at 6:30 p.m. in honor of Deb Charpentier, the former Town of Fairhaven archivist at the Millicent Library who passed away on March 14, 2025. Mrs. Charpentier was a dedicated member of the Fairhaven community, serving on the Fairhaven Historical Commission from 1991-2017 and working at the library for over four decades. Her dedication to the town is greatly missed.
This event is weather permitting and handicap accessible.
