The Fairhaven Recreation Center, and the Marine Resoures Department sponsored their second annual Fishing Derby on Friday, 8/1/25, at Hoppy’s Landing in Fairhaven.

The Rec Center posted on its Facebook page that it was a “huge success, and we couldn’t be more proud of all the amazing anglers who came out to enjoy the day with us!”

Winners were: Myles Abdelnour with  the most fish; Kenny Burr with the most unusual fish (Blue Crab); Theo Couto with the largest fish (13.5”)

Bounty Hunters Charter provided rods and bait, and rods for prizes.

“Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered, and helped make this event another one to remember,” wrote the Rec Cener. “We’re already looking forward to next year!”
