Ireland’s passion for politics and historical study was evident throughout her high school years. She served as Secretary General of the Model United Nations chapter and she held editorial responsibilities as a news editor for the Red & White, the school newspaper.
In addition, she was a co-head of Women in Leadership, a student-led organization that empowers young women to develop confidence and pursue roles in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Ireland has long aspired to become a lawyer, inspired by her belief in justice, her love of public speaking, and her commitment to public service.
She looks forward to further exploring the legal system and governmental policy during her time at Cornell.
