Summer Concerts

Concerts are held rain or shine. In the event of rain, join us under the pavilion or in the community room. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Acushnet Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

July 30 The Whelks are a Rhode Island-based acoustic trio consisting of Peri DeLorenzo on fiddle, Mark Dobbyn on guitar, and Erin Lobb Mason on upright bass. They play a mix of swing, country, old time, bluegrass, Irish, folk, and original songs, all dressed up in glorious three-part harmony.

August 6 The Butch McCarthy and the Gentlemen of Leisure with Angel band features: Butch McCarthy – guitar, vocals, Seth Asser – mandolin, harmonica, vocals , Jon Borges drums, Steve Mazza – bass and Angelica Vendetti – violin, vocals. They will play an eclectic mixture of original songs and reconsidered cover songs Combining rock, folk, and bluegrass into tightly arranged selections.

Raffle Fundraiser 

Friends of the Acushnet Public Library will be holding a 50/50 raffle at each of the Acushnet library’s Wednesday evening outdoor Summer Concert Series. 

Fairhaven

Concerts Under the Stars, Presented by the Fairhaven Improve­ment Association, Fairhaven Town Hall, 40 Center St. Weather permitting Join us Thursday nights at 7 PM  for live music under the summer sky. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy these free community concerts.

• July 31: Pete Lagrange and the Ghost Riders

• Aug. 7: Butch McCarthy and the Gentlement of Leisure

New Bedford

At Custom House Square

FREE summer concerts, sponsored by the Whaling History Alliance, at Custom House Square, Downtown New Bedford, (corner Acushnet Ave. and William St.), from 6–8 p.m. on the following Thursdays: July 24, That 80s Band; Aug. 7, Hardwire; Aug. 14, Lively Up!

Summer Sound Series

Visitors and residents are invited to New Bedford’s annual Summer Sound Series, now organized by AHA! New Bedford, delivering to downtown a lineup of musicians who will have you dancing in the streets! 

The free Summer Sounds Series concerts take place on select Fridays throughout the summer, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, alternating between stages on closed portions of lower Union Street and Purchase Street. 

July 25: The Groovalottos, Funk, Thump & Soul. Lower Union St. Stage 

Aug. 8: Jammin’, Reggae. Purchase Street Stage. 

Aug. 15: Neal McCarth Electric 6-Piece Band. Rock & Blues. Lower Union Street Stage.

Aug. 22: Colby James & The Ramblers. Rock-Country. Purchase Street Stage.
