Results are In!
Fairhaven High School Students Answer a Design Call from the Fairhaven Summer Art Gallery. Students were asked to create: Logo for Fairhaven Summer Art Gallery; Poster for this year’s exhibit; Stickers for Art Events around town
The winning entry, by Olivia Arribada, 10th grade, will be used to promote the Opening Reception of our summer art gallery on Fri., 6/20, 4–6 p.m., at Northeast Maritime Institute, 29 Center Street, Fairhaven, MA. She will get a $200 gift certificate to Amazon or Dunkin’ Donuts.
The Fairhaven Summer Art Gallery features Susan Darwin’s The East Coast Painting from June 21 to August 2. The gallery will be open Thursdays and Fridays, 8 a.m.–1 p.m., and 4–7 p.m.; and Saturdays, 8 a.m.–1 p.m.
Three other designs were very strong and will be made into stickers. Each designer will receive a $20 gift card of their choosing.
Winners are: Quentin Hiller, 12th grade; Emma Cabral, 11th grade; Gavin Austin, 12th grade
The beautiful, historic, seaside town of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, has drawn artists, and visitors who seek art, for many years. The purpose of the Summer Art Gallery is to create a space for visiting artists to live, work, and exhibit in the town for an extended period of time during the peak of the tourist season — Summer.
The Gallery, in downtown Fairhaven, will be staffed by locals who can answer questions about Fairhaven and point visitors to other interesting places around town. The goal of the Summer Art Gallery is to create an open, welcoming, art experience in the center of town that draws visitors in to further explore this special place.
