Dan LeBlanc, a local veteran and author of “Deckhouse My Story,’’ will share his life story at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at Fort Taber-Fort Rodman Military Museum and Veterans Memorial, 1000Cs Rodney French Blvd., New Bedford.
Dan grew up in a home filled with the love of his mother and the discipline of his father.
His father was a World War II veteran who served on D-Day and was a prisoner of war.
As Dan grew up as a young athlete, he wanted a life in the military and chose the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam and returned home with disabling injuries.
He began a new life, only to have roadblocks thrown in his face.
His presentation is part of the museum’s winter 2025 historical lecture series.
The talk is free and there is ample free parking. For more information, call 508-994-3938 or e-mail info@forttaber.org.
