Trump is Short Range Disaster; Harris is Long Term Disaster
Trump is a short-range, scatterbrained Pragmatist who can’t be trusted to be consistent. Even when he is right, it’s only for the moment. His next moment is in a different direction. And the third moment, in a third direction. His rambling speeches randomly combine personal trivia, personal attacks and political policy.
Trump was “educated” in America’s Progressive schools which require the mindless memorization of a chaos of arbitrarily selected, concrete facts with no principles for unifying the facts into a long-range guide to thought and action.
Every concrete fact for Pragmatists is compartmentalized, isolated, in their scrambled brains from every other concrete fact. Pragmatists claim this is practical (for the moment, not tomorrow). Trump’s intended appeasement of Christian globalist Russia will work for peace in the moment. And tomorrow? In 1938, Chamberlain appeased Hitler with “peace in our time.” In 1939, Germany invaded Poland.
Trump is a nationalist. Harris is an egalitarian. Trump is a short-range disaster for individual rights. Harris is a long-range disaster. With Harris, there will be time for a return to individual rights. Harris will legally prostitute the Constitution in the long-run. Trump will use executive orders to evade the Constitution now.
The Constitution was written in the 18th century, Enlightenment culture of the focused mind. It is now threatened in our modern culture of the unfocused mind.
As ’60s rocker, Marianne Faithfull, so tartly warbled, “We’ve been trying to get high without having to pay.”
